About me

Hey I’m Finn, a software engineer who works as a full stack professional. I graduated from the University of Manchester in 2022 with a degree in Human Computer Interaction. My dissertation was “Optimising CNNs to detect Epileptic Seizures using low power FPGA devices”. The project introduced me to low level hardware programming and design.

My core interests now lie in combining psychology, neuroscience and technology. My main focus is a project I call Qin. This blog acts as a place to share my work and also some information about myself and my life in general.

I’m a cancer survivor who now has Cardiotoxicity (heart failure), among other issues. I’d also like to use this platform to share some of my thoughts and feeling surrounding both my treatment and the latent effects. They are a large part of my life, something others might relate too.

I also travel a lot, both alone and with friends. Hopefully I can find some interesting things to write about during my travels.
